Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) has announced the release of its latest 1500 W surface-mount PAR transient voltage suppressors (TVS) in a space-saving SMB (DO-214AA) package, available in both unidirectional and bidirectional versions. Engineered for automotive applications, the new T15BxxA (uni) and T15BxxCA (bi) series are AEC-Q101 qualified and support high-temperature operation up to +185 °C, making them ideal for harsh environments.
These devices offer a 58% smaller footprint than comparable TVS solutions in the SMC (DO-214AB) package, enabling designers to save board space and reduce system costs without sacrificing performance.
These TVS devices are engineered to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients caused by inductive load switching and lightning strikes. Typical automotive applications include lighting systems, electro-mechanical brakes (EMB), and fuel pump controls; 48 V DC/DC converters and inverters; integrated starter generators, battery management systems (BMS), vehicle control units (VCUs), and on-board chargers (OBCs). They are also ideal for telematics control units (TCUs) supporting audio systems, electronic stability control (ESC), and radar sensors.
The devices comply with MSL Level 1 per J-STD-020 and are fully RoHS-compliant and halogen-free.
Samples and production quantities of the unidirectional and bidirectional TVS diodes are available now, with standard lead times of 12 weeks.
