The Bata Group has announced the appointment of Panos Mytaros as its new Global Chief Executive Officer, effective 15 September 2025. Mytaros succeeds Sandeep Kataria, who has led the company since 2020.
During his tenure, Sandeep Kataria steered Bata through a transformative period marked by the challenges of the global pandemic and rapid shifts in retail. Under his leadership, the company accelerated its digital strategy, streamlined operations, expanded into new markets, modernized business practices, and established a solid foundation for future growth.
Reflecting on his time with Bata, Sandeep Kataria shared that, “Bata is much more than a great company – it’s a community, a legacy, and a force for good around the world. Leading this powerful team has been one of the great privileges of my life. I will always carry Bata in my heart.”
Panos Mytaros brings over 30 years of global leadership experience in the footwear and leather industry. He joins Bata following a distinguished career at ECCO, where he held several senior positions including, most recently, Chief Executive Officer from 2021 to 2024.
