Kuehne+Nagel has renewed and expanded its long-standing partnership with Airbus, reinforcing its role as a key logistics provider across Airbus production and storage sites in Spain. The extended agreement now also includes logistics support for helicopter maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities, a first for the collaboration.
Under the new contract, Kuehne+Nagel manages in-plant logistics, inter-site transportation, warehouse-to-line deliveries, spare parts management, and supply fulfilment centre operations. More than 900 Kuehne+Nagel employees are deployed across 16 Airbus locations, including Albacete, Cádiz, Madrid, Sevilla, Toledo, and Zaragoza.
To support operational excellence, Kuehne+Nagel has invested in cutting-edge technologies, including a proprietary warehouse management system, robotics, RFID-based part tracking, and IoT-powered applications. In line with Airbus’ environmental priorities, the company has also introduced initiatives aimed at reducing cardboard and plastic usage throughout the supply chain.
“We are honoured to continue supporting Airbus with tailored logistics solutions that integrate digital innovation, operational efficiency, and a commitment to sustainability,” stated Álvaro Nebreda, National Contract Logistics Manager, Spain. “This collaboration underscores our dedication to the aerospace sector and highlights our adaptability to meet the evolving demands of our customers.”
