Envision, a global leader in green technology and energy transformation, has officially commissioned the world’s largest and most advanced green hydrogen and ammonia production facility. Located in the Chifeng Net Zero Industrial Park, now the world’s largest zero-carbon industrial hub, the plant marks a new era in clean fuel innovation.
Powered entirely by a proprietary off-grid renewable system, the facility is the first of its kind to be fully AI-integrated, enabling real-time optimization, unmatched operational stability, and round-the-clock efficiency. It now produces 320,000 tons of green ammonia annually, with exports commencing in Q4.
This pioneering project applies commercial-scale innovation to energy storage and load flexibility. Surplus renewable power is converted to liquid nitrogen within a dynamic air-separation unit, while AI-enabled electrolyzers adapt to fluctuations in wind and solar supply, ensuring optimized green ammonia output. As a stable transport and storage medium, green ammonia now offers a practical pathway to scaling hydrogen adoption across heavy industries.
The off-grid renewable system combines advanced wind turbines, grid-forming battery storage, and predictive meteorological modeling. This smart infrastructure dynamically balances generation with demand, enabling consistent, cost-effective fuel production, independent of any power grid.
“This is more than a technological milestone,” said Lei Zhang, Envision’s Founder and CEO. “Scalable, green alternatives are now real and operational. We can’t get to net zero without green hydrogen, and we can’t afford to wait. This is the blueprint for a clean energy future.”
By 2028, the industrial park is expected to produce 1.5 million tons of green ammonia annually, offering a scalable, replicable model for global clean energy hubs.
Backed by Global Partnerships and Certification
The project has secured a long-term offtake agreement with Marubeni Corporation, one of Japan’s largest trading companies, accelerating the use of green ammonia in fertilizers, chemicals, and maritime shipping. It has also earned the Bureau Veritas Renewable Ammonia Certification, affirming its leadership in safety, sustainability, and emissions compliance.
