XTI Aerospace, Inc., a pioneer in powered-lift and xVTOL aviation, today announced the successful completion of a key Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Structures Technical Familiarization (Tech Fam) meeting, marking another significant milestone toward certification of the TriFan 600.

The session involved in-depth discussions between FAA officials and XTI engineering experts covering the aircraft’s structural design philosophy, load cases, compliance strategy, and analytical methodologies. The TriFan 600, XTI’s vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) business aircraft, is being developed with a focus on high performance, safety, and regulatory alignment.

“Completion of this collaborative Tech Fam meeting with the FAA is a meaningful step to progress the TriFan 600 towards type certification, which is the FAA approval of the design of the aircraft and all component parts,” said David Ambrose, XTI’s Vice President of Engineering. “We continue to de-risk critical aspects of our structural design with FAA input.”

XTI Aerospace is the parent company of XTI Aircraft Company, an aviation business based near Denver, Colorado, currently developing the TriFan 600, a fixed-wing business aircraft designed to have the vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) capability of a helicopter, maximum cruising speeds of over 300 mph and a range of 1,000 miles, creating an entirely new category – the xVTOL. Additionally, the Inpixon (inpixon.com) business unit of XTI Aerospace is a leader in real-time location systems (RTLS) technology with customers around the world who use the Company’s location intelligence solutions in factories and other industrial facilities to help optimize operations, increase productivity, and enhance safety.
