GreenLine Mobility Solutions Ltd., an Essar venture and India’s only green logistics operator using LNG and electric-powered heavy trucks, has secured a $275 million equity investment to fast-track the decarbonization of the country’s heavy trucking industry. Among the backers is Nikhil Kamath, who has invested $20 million, highlighting growing investor confidence in India’s green logistics transformation.

This funding will enable GreenLine to roll out over 10,000 low-emission LNG and EV trucks and build a nationwide network of 100 LNG refueling stations, EV charging hubs, and battery swapping facilities. The initiative is expected to cut 1 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually, tackling one of India’s most pressing environmental challenges.

India’s road logistics sector, with more than 4 million trucks on the road and counting, remains a major contributor to the nation’s greenhouse gas emissions. Aligned with government climate goals, GreenLine is focused on transforming the heavy-duty vehicle segment by offering sustainable transport options that match the cost of diesel, helping businesses reduce emissions without added expense.

GreenLine’s LNG trucks can lower CO₂ emissions by up to 30%, positioning the company as a preferred partner for sustainability-driven enterprises. Its fleet of over 650 LNG trucks already serves leading brands in FMCG, e-commerce, cement, mining, oil & gas, and chemicals. To date, the fleet has covered 38 million kilometers and eliminated 10,000 tonnes of carbon emissions.
